Obituary

Dylan Jenson, 13, Norwich, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 in a Minot hospital.

Dylan was born August 5, 2003, in Grand Forks, ND to Kendra Thom and Kenneth Jenson. He began his education at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Grand Forks. Dylan continued his elementary education in Velva, ND and currently was going to Dakota Memorial School in Minot, where he was gearing up to enter his freshman year of high school.

Dylan fit a lifetime of memories with his family into his thirteen years. Grandparents Camp at Lake Metigoshe cultivated his deep faith and love for God. Dylan loved to help everyone, no matter the task. He was an assistant soundman at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva and the number one helper on the farm. He loved the tasks of taking samples and reading gauges, but if the task involved driving, Dylan was certainly your man. At age seven, his legs grew long enough for his feet to hit the pedals and in the grain cart he went operating it with ease. He added drone operating and semi driving to his list of driving abilities last year too.

His pellet gun was never too far out of reach, mastering the art of shooting with his father and stepfather. He managed to tag his first deer last year during the youth season. His collection of NERF guns and ammo was second to none. He was known to send a warning shot past his mother as she entered the room. He shared a passion for racing with his family, enjoying the World of Outlaws when they came to town and always managed to take the go-cart for a spin. He loved to golf and was a member of the Chess Club, although his toughest competition was his friend, Travis and of course his mom. Ski trips to Big Sky, Montana or NDSU football games may have been number one on his list of favorite things he enjoyed with his family or maybe it was his love of Freal shakesmint flavored, of course, from the service station.

Dylan was an entertainer. He dazzled many with his magic shows and was known to share a few jokes. Dylan loved the fourth of July and as a member of the MUM Pyrotechnics team based out of Sawyer, ND he assisted in the construction of many shells for all to enjoy on the holiday. He loved to build, fix and tinker but one of his most amazing talents was his ability to bring his family together.

Dylan's love of music was immeasurable. He loved to sing every chance he was given in the car or as a member of his church group 'Son Rise.' He will be forever missed to all who knew him as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend but will forever be the music of our hearts cherished with the many memories we will have forever.

Dylan's loving family includes his mother, Kendra (Nathan) Faa, Norwich, ND and father, Kenneth (Candee) Jenson, Thompson, ND; brother, Landon Jenson, Thompson, ND; stepsister, Emma Johnson, Surrey, ND; grandparents, David and Bonnie Thom, Granville, ND; aunts and uncles, Nolan Thom, Megan (Kyle) Krueger, Donnie Jr. (Julie) Jenson, Darla Jenson, Annette (John) Dolleslager and Sandy Stoffel; step-grandmothers, Shirley Faa and Jane Stoffel and cousins, Ashton and Bria Thom, Ryne and Kailen Dolleslager, Donny III and Summer Jenson, Jaydee Jenson and Easton and Zane.
