Dwight Kelly Blackhawk, 66, of New Town passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Minot, ND. He was born August 28, 1956, in Stanley, ND to his parents Frederick & Beulah (Huntsalong-Chapin) Blackhawk.

Kelly enjoyed Pow Wow's and Sun Dances. Loved playing the drums and attending car shows. Was a member of MHA Nation. Kelly worked as a truck driver and addiction counselor for many years. He enjoyed working out and excelled in martial arts.

Kelly is survived by his son Stewart Blackhawk of Towaoc, Colorado, daughters Raeanna Shoat (Robert) of Poteau, Oklahoma, Victoria Blackhawk of Anderson, CA, Leona Ward (Dustin) of Poteau, OK, Leslie Clark (Daniel) of Keota, OK, sisters Sandra Blackhawk of New Town and Joy Chapin of Keene, ND, brother Donald Chapin of New Town; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Johnny Bird Veteran's Memorial Building on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Kevin Finley will be officiating.

Internment will be private.
