Duane "Augie" Ostdahl, 65, Minot, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in a Minot Hospital.

Duane was born April 3, 1955 at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Lawrence and Berniece (Halvorson) Ostdahl. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Minot.

Augie moved to Florida and Texas, where he was employed in the construction industry and framed homes for several years. He returned to Minot in the late 1970's, where he worked for the family business, Sebby's Carpetarea and was an accomplished installer. In 2008, he started Augie's Flooring and did countless installations throughout the Minot area until recently when he retired due to ill health.

Augie was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing with many of his buddies at golf courses throughout North Dakota. One of his many golfing accomplishments was getting a hole in one on two occasions. He had played softball locally, along with billiards and watching Western movies. The memories we made together will be cherished forever in our hearts.

Augie's loving family includes : sisters, Sharon (Mike) Gifford, Minot, Shirley (Gene) Preskey, Minot, brother, Daryl (Joni) Ostdahl, Minot; nieces & nephews: Chad (Kim) Gifford, Rebecca Gifford, Michael (Gina) Gifford, Dereck (Rafa) Ostdahl, Ashley Ostdahl (Mat Sondag), Brittany Heft (Don Zimmerman), Katie Vollmer (Jason Robb), Tanner Larson, Megan, Tanner and Myles Preskey; great nieces and nephews: Christian, Camden, Keely, Mila, Lila, Tayte, Liva, Mati and Walker.

Augie was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life service: Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

Public Graveside Service: Saturday at Noon in Section 27 of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Public Visitation: The family will observe social distancing and space limitations on Friday, May 29 ^th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: The family prefers memorials.
