Duane C. Larson, 81, 2800 Sunset Ridge Rd S.E. Minot, died Saturday, January 6, 2007, in a Minot Hospital.
Duane was born January 21, 1925, at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Clarence and Cecile (McFall) Larson. He was raised and educated at Minot and graduated from Minot High School. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Navy Seabee's and served from 1942 to 1946 in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. He achieved the rank of petty officer and received his honorable discharge. He returned to the Minot area, where he was united in marriage to Deilla Slavick on February 15, 1947, at Minot. He farmed and ranched southeast of Minot, and assisted with the operation of the family business, Larson Grocery, throughout the years. He worked as a carpenter for area contractors and drove school bus for 31 years for the Nedrose School District.
Duane was a member of the Minot Trailrider's Association. He loved teaching family and friends the finer points of working with horses. He was a former member of the Minot American Legion, V.F.W and First Lutheran Church. He was dearly loved and will be taking a part of each of us with him.
His loving family includes: his wife of nearly 60 years, Deilla; Daughters: Jody Hanson, Rice Lake, ND, Renae (Ken) Williams, Minot, Pam (Steve) Schlosser, Minot, Joan (Darrel) Scofield, Bismarck; Sons: Larry Larson, Minot, and Rod (Vickie) Larson, Minot; Ten Grandchildren; Five Great Grandchildren; Sister: Carol Singer, Palm Desert, CA.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Joyce Hustad, and Marvel Pritchett, and brother, Chuck Larson.

: Thursday, January 11, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot;

: Wednesday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
