Obituary

Douglas Weltzin, 77, Minot, died Friday, May 28, 2021 in a Minot nursing home.

Douglas Carl Weltzin was born June 9 th 1943 to Carl Adolf and Maxine (Newman) Weltzin.  Doug was the middle child with an older sister Rose Marie Paris and younger Sister Carla Sue Dixon. Doug was born in Chippewa Falls, WI.  The family moved to ND and Doug graduated from Kenmare High School.  Doug married Linda Joan DeMar Oct. 10 th 1963.  They had 5 children Jo-Nell Lynn (Andy Anderson) Clayton Douglas (Kristie Casanova) Lowell David (Rayna Hamilton) Cynthia Lynn (Jack Kimble) Lisa Lynn (Jeremiah Cramer)

Their children gave them 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Doug was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses Dec 29 th 1956 in Bowman, ND.

Doug loved working the land and working as a mechanic. What Doug loved most was his family, teaching them about Jehovah and working hard.  Doug loved attending the meetings at the Kingdom Hall and talking about Jehovah, his god.  Doug loved to use illustrations to explain bible truths and was known for some thought-provoking ones.

Doug passed away Friday May 28 th 2021 at Trinity nursing home. Doug's children were all able to travel home to be with him and the family during this hard time.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Maxine, his younger sister Carla Sue, Grandson Matthew Anderson and grandson-in-law Allan D. Olson.

Doug is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his sister, nieces, nephews and many other family members.

The memorial for Doug will be held June 12 th at 2pm Central Time on ZOOM.
