Dorothy Elizabeth Wallace, 80, Burlington, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in a Burlington adult fostercare center.

Dorothy was born April 21, 1929, in New London, CT the daughter of Kenneth Felton and Mary Margaret (O'Rourke) Monson.

She was raised and educated in Makoti, ND, graduating from high school in 1947. Dorothy began employment as a switchboard operator at the Leland Parker for a short time and later at Winston Newell.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Thomas Russell Wallace September 2, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. They resided in Antler, ND before settling in Burlington in 1961, where they raised their family of six children. She was employed as a payroll clerk at Sears Roebuck for 19 years until joining Minot Public Schools in the same capacity for the next 19 years until her retirement.

Tom passed away on September 7, 2001. She continued to reside in Burlington and for the past five years has resided at the Barb Enney Adult Fostercare Center, where she continued to enjoy her cup of coffee.

She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Burlington. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Surviving family includes: Children: Connie (Mike) Haider, Burlington, ND, Debbie (Ed) Flagg, Ocean Springs, MS, Jeff (Debbie) Wallace, Minot, Allison Johnson, Minot, Greg (Janice) Wallace, Superior, WI and David (Susanne) Wallace, Dickinson, ND; Seventeen Grandchildren; Twenty-three Great-Grandchildren; and One Great-Great Grandchild; Sisters, Leah (Lane) Sundsbak, Des Lacs, ND and Charlotte (Lyle) Fogel, Minot, ND and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Beth, great-granddaughter, Taylor Cantone and brother Karl Frank Monson.

Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington, ND.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation: Friday, October 23, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
