Dorothy Wagar, 93, Minot, died Thursday, February 25, 2016, in a Minot nursing home.

Dorothy Wagar was born January 26, 1923, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Louis and Selma (Galau) Wasmundt. She was educated for three years in Burlington, Wisconsin and following the death of her mother at an early age she assisted her own family with household chores along with other families in the area. At age 17, she became employed at a factory outside of Chicago, Illinois. She also maintained working interests in Wisconsin for a few years.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Albert Simonson on January 4, 1958 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They made their home in Deering, North Dakota. He passed away on July 3, 1965.

Dorothy married Orville Wagar on September 28, 1966, in Minot, ND. They made their home on a farm near Deering, where she assisted with the operation of the farmstead for the next 22 years until they retired from farming in 1988. They moved to Minot in 1993. Orville died February 15, 2013.

Dorothy is a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Minot. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and traveling.

Dorothy's family includes her siblings, Andrew (Shirley) Wasmundt, Mesa, AZ and John (Beverly) Wasmundt, Racine, WI, David Wasmundt, Flora, IL and Margaret Seibold, Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Audrey Hanson, Minot, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews and friend, John Harvey, Minot, ND.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Albert Simonson and Orville Wagar and siblings, Robert Wasmundt, Louis Wasmundt, Leona Thorp, Florence Robinson and Faith Lee.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Apostolic Faith Church, Minot, ND

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

A memorial register book may be signed at the church on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in conjunction with programming and services at the church.

Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
