Dorothy Lurene Roy, 85, Minot died on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in a Minot hospital.

Dorothy was born on October 20, 1921 in Clyde, ND, to William and Pearl (Nelson) Rardon. She was raised and educated in the Rolla, ND area.

Dorothy married John Roy on September 17, 1939 in Rolla. They made their home in various North Dakota communities including Garrison, St. John, Rolla, Underwood and Towner prior to moving to Minot in 1961. She took great pride in being a fulltime wife and mother of thirteen children. They had resided at 5621 37th Ave. S.E. - Minot for many years prior to her moving to Trinity Homes in 2006. John died on March 7, 1985.

Dorothy attended First Assembly of God and she especially enjoyed cooking, baking, completing word searches, and collecting porcelain dolls, but her number one passion was being a loving mother and grandmother.

Dorothy's loving family includes her daughters: Betty (Ernest) Mock, Vivian Roy, Minnie (Eddie) Krueger, Peggy (Russell) Krall, Patsy (Bruce) Haugeberg, Hazel (Jeff) Bower, Marjorie (Tim) Eizenzimmer, and Pam (Calvin) Arndt all of Minot and Faye (Robert) McNamara of Kauaii, Hawaii; sons: James (Sharon) Roy of San Jose, CA, Rev. John (Margery) Roy of Ishpeming, MI, Mackey (Janell) Roy of Minot and Duane Roy of Mandan; Twenty-seven Grandchildren: Michael, Michelle, Terry, Shari, Brian, Greg, Tim, David, Brianna, Christopher, Jodi, Melissa, Robert III, Dee, Lisa, Christie, Cindy, Dawn, Rusty, Barbara, Karen Greg, Timmy, Trevor, Mandy, Johnny, and Tayla; Forty-one Great Grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob, Tyler, Alex, Zach, Quinn, Conner, Maximillian, Olivia, Stella, Lacora, Manny, Johnny, Brandi, Dustin, Brandon, Zachary, Brady, Christopher, Jesse, Tanner, Mike, Steve, Carley, Kaylee, Ashley, Eric, Vincent, Leonard, Cody, Jordon, Shawnee, Michelle, Brittany, Samantha, Dillon, Emma, Tegan, Brekken Mikenna, and Amilia; Five great-great grandchildren: Mia, Danny, Raeanna, Steven, and Tatiana; siblings: Arlus Weston of Brookston, IN, Von (LaVonne) Rardon of Great Falls, MT, Alura Schoephoerster of Lodi, WI, Dwaine (Doris) Rardon of Devils Lake, ND, Lois Decoteau of Arvada, CO, Elaine (Tony) Villeburn of Great Falls, MT, Colleen (Lee) Brown of Harlow, OK, Alvina (Richard) Sullivan of Great Falls, MT, Clinton (Mary) Rardon of Lincoln, NE and Linda Vacon of Spokane, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children: Michael and Joseph Roy, grandchild Cody Mack Roy, sister: Opal Krogfass and brothers: Melvin, Johnny and Loren Rardon.

Funeral Service: Monday, October 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred.
