Dorothy May Finch , 93, Minot, formerly of Tomah, WI, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 in a Minot adult foster care home.

Dorothy was born on July 22, 1921 in Shenington, WI, to Herman and Lorraine (Madsen) Bauman. She was raised and educated in Wisconsin and graduated Tomah High School in 1940.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Albin Finch on January 27, 1946 in Ft. McCoy, WI. They made their home in rural Camp Douglas for many years, where she was employed as a railroad clerk in the freight and express branch until she retired to raise their daughter, Cheryl. She loved children and was an important part of the lives of numerous nieces and nephews.

Albin, Dorothy and Cheryl spent many summer vacations traveling over the United States and Dorothy was proud to have been in 48 of 50 states. Albin died December 25, 2001.

Dorothy moved to Minot, ND in 2002 to be nearer to her daughter and family. She lived at Edgewood Vista for five years where she enjoyed making plastic canvas items and doing puzzles. She had recently moved into the Unsong Ringuette Adult Fostercare home in Minot. Dorothy was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She had most recently been attending Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Minot, ND. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Dorothy's loving family includes daughter, Dr. Cheryl (Wyatt) Ree, Minot; granddaughter, Calissa Ree, Minot; brother, Herman, Jr. (Janice) Bauman, Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law, Zola Finch, Tomah, WI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters: Helen and June.

Public Prayer Service : Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Wyeville Cemetery, Wyeville, WI.
Visitation : Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to Dakota Hope Clinic, Minot or an organization of the donor's choice.
