Dorothy A. Cayce ,71, Minot, moved on in a Minot care center on September 8, 2009.

Dorothy Adell Cayce was born to Gerhardt and Evelyn (Zuraff) Bruse on November 15, 1937 in Marion, North Dakota. She was raised in Litchville, ND, Sterling, ND, Underwood, and Garrison, ND.

She was once married to Reggie Olson and later married Donavan Cayce on October 31, 1962 in Bismarck, North Dakota, where they made their home. She worked for a number of years as a housekeeper in Bismarck spending nine years working at St. Vincent Nursing Home. She also worked at Bismarck Motor Hotel, with her last job being the head of laundry at the Motel 6 in Bismarck. Dorothy later helped her daughters operate daycare centers, doing most of the cooking.

Dorothy lived with her daughters for a while in Denver, CO, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Utah, New Gloucester, Maine. She then moved to Minot living there for the last ten years. Dorothy was a resident of the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva, North Dakota and was transferred to Manor Care in Minot.

Dorothy's hobbies included: cross stitching, cross word puzzles, cooking, watching the food network, going to the family farm in Velva, and spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Her loving family includes: daughters; Debra (Orlan) Swensrud, Minot, ND, Donna Wallace, Minot, ND, son; Brian Olson, Minot, ND, former son-in-law; Randy Rittenbach, brother; Larry (Eileen) Bruse, Bismarck, ND, nieces; Sherry (Gary) Schell, Sheila (Paul) Schumacher, daughter, Kendra, Lori Wright, daughter, Macy, grandchildren; Jeanne Bullard, Portland, OR, Jennifer Robinson, Jesse Rittenbach, Tara Lockhart, great grandchildren; Kelseye Lockhart, Ta'teanna Lockhart, Breein Nielson, Brekka Nielson, Peyton Nielson, Jessica Bullard, Jordon Robinson. She also shared in the lives of Reggie's children by his second marriage.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands Reginald Olson, and Donavon Cayce.

Graveside service : Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Sterling Union Cemetery, Sterling, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
