Dorothy A. Belisle, 94, Minot, and formerly of Lansford, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 in a private assisted living home in Minot.

Dorothy was born January 10, 1916 at Lansford, ND, the oldest of sixteen children to Ralph and Lena (Parker) Richardson. She was raised in the Lansford area and attended schools at Lansford. She was once married to Ernest Henricks and from this union, Jerry and Myrna were born.

In 1940, Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph Belisle. They worked together on the farm south of Lansford. In addition, Dorothy worked at the Adams & Theis Variety Store in Lansford, and assisted Ralph in running the Lansford Meat Market and Grocery Store. From this union, sons, Bob and Dick were born. In 1960, they moved to a farm southwest of Minot, where they lived and farmed for over 20 years. They moved to Minot and later purchased a condo in northwest Minot and continued to live there until Ralph passed away in 1999.

Dorothy then moved to the Dakota Terrace apartments, where she lived until moving to the Edgewood Vista assisted living center in 2007. She most recently became a resident of the Wintering Creek private assisted living center in Minot.

Dorothy is survived by: Daughter, Myrna (Merlyn "Bud" ) Witty of Minot, Sons, Jerry (Carol) Henricks, Mohall, Bob (Edna) Belisle, Lansford, Dick (Linda) Bismarck; Grandchildren, Nancy (Joel) Sandeen, Bruce (Margaret) Henricks, Sheldon Witty, Julie (Mike) Severson, Randy Belisle, Erin Belisle, Lance (Sara) Belisle, Tara (Scott) Krenner; 8 Great-Grandchildren; Step-Grandchildren, Brenda (Bob) Demke, Colleen (Rod) Jacobson, Mike (Cindy) Milkey, Mark (Sandy) Milkey; Brothers, Robert Richardson and Harley (Rosie) Richardson, both of Beloit, WI, John (Phyllis) Richardson, Minot, Don (Marie) Richardson, Minot, Floyd Richardson, Mandan; Sisters, Phyllis (Al) Clark, Hemet, CA, Doris Herndon, Paradise, CA; Sisters-in-law: Doris Richardson, CA, Velma Richardson, Spokane, WA, Viola Richardson, Hebron, ND, Mary Ann Richardson, Grand Junction, CO; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Eugene, Raymond, Orville, Harry Richardson and sisters, Donna Richardson, Mille Railing Kovarik, Lois Heath and Hazel Gardner.

Funeral service: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.
Graveside service: Tuesday at 1:30pm in the Lansford Community Cemetery.
Visitation : Monday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
Memorials are preferred to the Lansford Cemetery Association.
