Doris Mae Williams,
82, Minot, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in a Minot nursing home.
Doris was born May 17, 1928, in Burt Township of Ward County, near Des Lacs, ND, to Foster and Bertha (Spicher) Groninger. She was educated in Drady Country School.
As a young adult, Doris was employed at Woolworth's Department Store and also Speedway Restaurant. Later, she worked at Newberry's Department Store before joining the Trinity Hospital Housekeeping Department in 1976. She continued to work for Trinity Hospital until her retirement in 1993. In addition to her employment at Trinity, Doris worked as a banquet server for the International Inn for many years.
Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Minot. Her hobbies included embroidery, needlework, crossword puzzles, reading, and gardening. She was proud of her flower gardens and enjoyed spending time caring for them.
Her loving family includes: her sons, Rodney (Sandy) Williams and Sidney (Darley) Williams, both of Minot; grandchildren, Chad (Kelly Borchardt) Williams, Cory (Hallie) Williams, Danae (Kris) Greek, Destin (Kady) Williams and Brent Williams; great-grandchildren, Casey, Nathan, Dylan, Marshall, Danni, Austin, McKenna, Madalynn and Rylan; sister, LaVonne Andreasen of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lynnette Williams; and her sisters, Myla Hicks and Alice Williams.
Funeral service: Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from noon 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
