Doris Gliege , 79, Minot, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 in a Minot nursing home.

Doris was born January 9, 1935 in Mountrail Country near Stanley, ND to Zelno and Susie (Lindley) Newnam. She was raised and educated at Epworth, ND. She moved with her family to Minot in September of 1945 and graduated from Minot High School in 1953. She was employed at F.W. Woolworth Co for a time prior to her marriage to Palmer Anderson of Lostwood, ND on May 9, 1959. He died December 29, 1975.

Doris moved to Glenburn, ND after Palmer's death and was united in marriage to Herbert Gliege on June 12, 1981 in Mohall. After farming for several years, they retired and moved to a home in Northwest Minot in 1989 spending much of their time between the farm and Minot. Herbert died August 19, 2006. Doris had been a resident of Emerald Court for several years, prior to entering Trinity Homes in January of 2013.

Doris enjoyed her Yorkie dogs, cats, music, quilting and doing embroidery work in her spare time.

Her loving family includes , brother, Donavon (Adeline) Newnam, Minot; sisters, Phyllis (Shirley) Sand, Grand Forks, ND, Zelma Mull, Minot and Audrey Cordner, Minot, ND: brother in law, Hervin (Fran) Gliege, Seattle, WA; along with several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband's, Palmer and Herbert; sister, Gloria Polsfut.

Funeral Service : Monday, November 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot, ND.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday from Noon -4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter or the Salvation Army.
