Dorathy Elizabeth Vannett - Norberg, 88, Minot, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Dorathy was born January 1, 1926 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Davidson) Scofield. Dorathy was raised and educated at Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Claude Vannett on August 27, 1942 in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where they owned and operated the Corner Bar. Claude died in 1970.
Dorathy continued to operate the business until it was sold in 1971. She then married Dale Norberg on October 27, 1971 in Minot. They continued to make their home in Minot, where she was employed part time at Ranger Lounge & Nola's Lounge until she retired in 1975. They had owned a lake home at Strawberry Lake since 1960, where they spent many years of enjoyment.
Dorathy was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and former member of the Moose Lodge. Dorathy enjoyed reading, painting and traveling.
Her loving family includes, husband of forty-two years, Dale; children, Sharon (Edwin) Walter, Minot, Larry (Barbara) Vannett, Minot, Maynard (Mary) Vannett, Hastings, MN, Ronald (Pamela) Vannett, Minot and Claudia (Richard) Russell, Bismarck ; 17 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings to include: Harry Scofield, Texas, Roger Scofield, Montana, Richard (Bertha) Scofield, Minnesota, Robert (Dena) Scofield, Arizona, Herbert Scofield, Colorado, Henry Scofield, Colorado, James (Irassla) Scofield, Minnesota, Daniel Scofield, Arizona, David Scofield, Texas and Jeanne (Jack) Garcia, Wisconsin.
Dorathy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude; great-granddaughter, Alexis Walter, sisters, Izetta, Irene, Illadell and infant, Barbara Ann; brothers, Floyd, Blaine, Donald, Edgar, Jack and Rosco, along with a half-brother, Jay Wesley Laird.

Monday, August 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

t: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation:
Sunday, August 10, 2014 from Noon-5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
