Doran Manley Glasoe, 89, Minot and formerly of Noonan died on Monday, December 5, 2016 in a Minot nursing home.

Doran was born on April 20, 1927 in Landa, ND to Almer M. and Vera (Boreson) Glasoe. He was reared and educated in Noonan and Minot, where the family moved in 1943, and he graduated from Minot Model High School in 1945. Doran was drafted into the U.S. Army on July 16, 1945 and served until his honorable discharge on December 31, 1946. He returned to North Dakota and was employed as a parts man at the Parker Motor Company, Parts Manager at Cummins Diesel and Credit Manager at Sherwin Williams Store all in Minot.

Doran married Arlene Olson on July 1, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where Doran began employment in 1954 with Westland Oil Company as an Accountant, Office Manager and Data Processing Manager. When Westland Oil Company was sold he moved to Farmington, MN and was employed as the Office Manager for Frederick-Willis Company. He returned to Minot in 1971 and was employed as the Office Manager for Rice Oil Company, Reynolds Exploration and Andee Drilling and then provided accounting services for several Minot businesses as an independent contractor.

Arlene died on April 5, 2014. Doran had continued to reside in Minot.

Doran was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge, Eagles Aerie and American Legion. In his free time he especially enjoyed woodworking, watching his favorite sports (local and national), attending many community musical events (especially Arts in the Park, and the community band concerts ie. Minot Brass Band, Minot City Band, Minot Concert Band), and attending any events of his grandchildren.

Doran's loving family includes his children: Dean (JoAnn) Glasoe of Albuquerque NM, Ward (Janet) Glasoe of Minneapolis, Stuart (Anne) Glasoe of Olympia WA and Julie (Brian) Troxel of Minot; grandchildren: Melissa (Corey) Helgeson, Eric (Kathleen) Glasoe, Lisa (John) Vojacek, Luke Glasoe, Hannah Kelly-Glasoe, Anthony (Erinn) Kelly-Glasoe, Emma Kelly-Glasoe, Travis Troxel and Tara Troxel; great grandchildren: Kendra Helgeson, Isabella Youngbar, Payton Glasoe, Isaac Halverson and Jacob Vojacek; brother: Harland Glasoe of Castle Rock CO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doran was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings: Nola Olson and Jim Glasoe.

Celebration of the Life of Doran Glasoe: Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation: Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
