Donald 'Don' Olsen, 70, Minot, formerly of Douglas, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 in a Minot Assisted Living Center surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born August 10, 1949 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Lidward and Myrtle (Johnson) Olsen. He was raised and educated at Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School in 1967. He was united in marriage to Debra 'Deb' Schoenwald on June 25, 1971 in Calvary Chapel at rural Sawyer. They lived on a farm near Douglas while Don farmed and they moved to Minot in 1979. Don attended Minot Business College, Northwest Bible College and later Minot State College,

Throughout their years in Douglas and Minot, Don and Deb raised their two daughters, Michele and Pamela. He was employed as a realtor with Century 21- Schoenwald Realty and later with Watne Realty. He then worked for Farm Credit Services for the next 25 years, retiring as the Senior Loan Officer in 2011. They lived for a short time in Two Harbors, MN until 2016, when they returned to Minot due to Don's ill health.

Don was active throughout his lifetime serving in a number of capacities including, the Cameron Township Board, member of Calvary Chapel and its board of directors, First Assembly of God Church and board of directors, Our Redeemer's Church and the Church's Trustee Board, Gideon's International local chapter, and the Douglas and Garrison Farmers Union Elevator Boards.    Don was a car buff and former member of the Dakota Cruisers Car Club.

Don is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Deb Olsen of Minot; daughters, Michele (Curt) Haugan, Two Harbors, MN and Pamela (Dwight) Remington, Minot; 3 grandchildren to include: Karsen and Karly Holm and Shay Remington; along with several cousins.

Don is preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life service : Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Redeemer's Church,Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Cemetery, Ryder, ND.

Visitation: Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemers Church or Our Redeemers Christian School, both Minot.
