The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 28, 2023 in Section 11 of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Donald Edward "Don" Mandigo , 64, Minot, formerly of Westhope, died Saturday, February 18, 2023 in a Garrison Nursing Care Facility.
Don was born November 17, 1958 at Bismarck, North Dakota, the son of Roland and Merilyn (Carlson) Mandigo. He was raised and educated at Westhope and graduated from Westhope High School in 1977. He furthered his education at North Dakota State University in Fargo for two years. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force in 1979.
Don was united in marriage to Barbara Staskivige on June 28, 1986 in Minot. Throughout the years, Don was stationed at Hahn AFB in Germany, Minot AFB, Kunsan AFB in South Korea and then returned to Minot AFB before retiring in 1992 as a staff sergeant. He was also employed with Neiss Designs for a year and with Choice Hotels. He became disabled in 1989.
Don was a member of the Presbyterian Faith, the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He enjoyed watching birds, doing woodworking and loved to tinker.
His loving family includes , wife of 36 years, Barb; daughter, Amanda (Michael) Bjorn, Alaska; 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Wyatt Bjorn; siblings, Brenda Ashby of Remington, VA, Robert (Cecelia) Mandigo, Bay City, MI; James (Ulrike) Mandigo, Rodenbach, Germany and Julia (Craig) Johnson, Maxbass, ND; mother-in-law, Margret Staskvivige, Drayton, ND; sister-in-law, Heidi (Allen) Brosius, Fargo, ND; special family friend, Elizabeth Lipinski, Minot; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Frank and brother-in-law, Evan Ashby.
Graveside service: June 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Section 11 of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
A Visitation & Viewing was held in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
