Obituary

Donald "Don" Clark, 70, Minot, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 in a Mohall nursing care center.

Don was born January 5, 1946 at Minot, North Dakota the son of Wayne and Borghild (Evenson) Clark. He was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1964.

He was drafted into the US Army in 1965 and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1967 and returned to the Minot area.

Don was united in marriage to Carol Ann Baron on September 20th, 1965. They lived in Minot for a few years, until moving to a farm in McKinley Township of Ward County, northeast of Minot. Both Don and Carol milked cows from 1968-1998 and sold milk to Bridgeman Creamery. Don loved farming the land and raising cattle throughout the years.

For many years, Don and Carol also owned and operated Rebel One Stop on North Hill. It was the only Independent Family owned gas station until 2012 when Don had his first stroke and it was sold.

Don was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. He enjoyed deer hunting with Wayde, Kristie and Brian throughout the years. He also loved to camp and fish at Lake Audobon in their spare time, along with meeting with friends and family at the Lake.

Don's loving family includes, his wife of 51 years, Carol; children, Kimberly (Paul) Burns, Minot, Wayde, Minot, Kristie (Brian) Michels, Mohall; grandchildren, Autumn Burns, Alan Michels, Matthew Michels, Luke Michels and Anthony Michels; sister, Barbara (Bob) Hilde, Seattle; Uncle, Kenneth Clark, Minot; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dale Reinhardt, Duane Larson, Barney Bradley and his special dog and companion, Razor.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Monty Southerland.

Memorial Gathering and Book Signing : Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
At the family's request, there will not be a public service.
Memorials are referred to Zion Lutheran Church of Minot, or The Good Samaritan Center of Mohall.
