Dion Palen, 55, Minot, passed away January 4, 2021 at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Dion was born on November 12, 1965 in Minot to Larry and Karen (Hurlbert) Palen. He attended school at Bell School and Sawyer Public School, Class of 1984.

Dion married Mary Rennich on June 3, 1986. He served in the United States Army and they lived in Germany and Colorado before moving back to North Dakota and residing in Minot, ND.

In Minot, Dion worked as a mechanic and later owned and operated Trophy Tackle along with his wife Mary.

Dion had a great sense of humor and loved fishing and playing dice games. He will be sorely missed by all his loved ones.

Dion was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and father-in-law, George Rennich.

Dion is survived by his parents, Larry and Karen Palen of Bismarck; his sister; Wendy (Robert) Bohrer and their children Dalton (Nicole) Bohrer, Dawson Bohrer, Delaney Bohrer, and great niece Addison Bohrer, all of Mandan; his mother-in-law Kathleen Lanz, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, aunts and uncles.

A book signing will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. There will be no formal memorial service.
Inurnment: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Rural Mandan, Spring 2021.
