Diane Walton
, 52, Minot, died on Thursday, July 07, 2011 in her home.
Diane (Weigel) Walton was born June 2, 1959, in Minot, ND, to Edward and Arlene (Abelstad) Weigel. She attended Bell School and later graduated from Minot High School in 1977. She completed her education at Wahpeton State School of Science, earning a LPN Degree.
Diane began employment for Trinity Hospital as an LPN until a car accident limited her career in nursing. Diane worked at Bingorama where she managed the lunch counter in addition to offering her home baked goods. Most recently, she brought her talents as a cook at the Wellington until being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer forced her retirement in December 2010.
Diane was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot. Enjoyment was found in baking, crocheting and crafting. She would sell her goods at various craft shows. Diane enjoyed painting especially rosemaling. She loved to play cards with family and friends. Diane was an easygoing loving person who always had a positive outlook on life. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Her loving family includes: son, Josh Walton, Minot; brother, Ken (Teresa Lamphier) Weigel, Minot; sister, Julie (Les) Taylor, Belgrade, MT and Amy (Doug) Hopkins, Minot; Parents, Arlene and Ed Weigel, Minot and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Diane was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mabel and Erick Abelstad and Mary and Joe Weigel.
Celebration of Life Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
There will be no reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register book on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
