Diane S. Heupel, 72, Minot, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in a Minot hospital.
Diane was born October 29, 1942, the daughter of Reinhold and Viola (Lindeman) Specht in Richardton, ND. She graduated from Arnegard High School in 1961. After graduation, she went to Bismarck and worked for F.W. Woolworth Company.
Diane married Emanuel J. Heupel, Jr. on October 30, 1966 in Keene, ND. After marriage, Diane worked at Griffiths Department store in Grand Forks, before moving to Minot in 1977. Locally she was employed with Hardware Hank in Minot and North Baptist Church as Child Caregiver for 8 years and Supervisor for a total of 12 years. She attended Minot First Church of the Nazarene, where she was Sunday school teacher for several years and vacation bible school helper.
Diane especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren, reading and spending time with her three sisters. She loved caring for their home, where she decorated her kitchen with gingerbread people. She was a dedicated member of her Homemakers Club and Tops #200 friends.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 48 years, Emanuel, Minot; daughter, Lori Lynn (Mark) Zaderaka, Minot; son, Craig Steven (Leanna) Heupel, Minot; 4 grandchildren, Braxton and Brenna Heupel and Cole and Emily Zaderaka; sisters, Joyce (Ron) Hansen, New Town, Annabelle (Keith) Green, Alexander, ND and Judy (Jerome Swenson) Sundhagen, Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Diane is now reunited in heaven with her father, Reinhold, mother, Viola, grandparents, Fred and Kathern Lindeman and Henry and Philippina Specht, special cousin, Gloria Trentini and several uncles and aunts.
Funeral Service:
Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in First Church of the Nazarene, Minot.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation:
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to First Church of the Nazarene Kitchen Fund.
