April 24, 1943 – January 20, 2024
Dennis Warren Lucier , 80, Minot, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 20, 2024, in a Minot healthcare facility. He was the son of John and Blanche (Poitra) Lucier, born April 24, 1943 in Belcourt, ND.
Dennis served honorably in the Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964 at Camp Pendleton in California. He trained as a chef following his military service.
At the start of his career as a chef, he worked at several restaurants in Minot including the Ramada Inn (International Inn) and McJacks. Dennis moved on to chef positions at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck ND from 1992 to 2004 and Burdick Job Corps Center from September 2005 to 2017. Throughout his life, he volunteered and cooked for many tribal Pow-Wow's and well as catering for the Mandan Chief Looking's Village.
Dennis loved to play at the casinos and socialize with people. He was a big teaser, if he was really fond of you, he would tease you the most. When his 3 boys were young, he enjoyed coaching baseball for American Legion Little league.
Dennis is survived by his children, Denise Lucier, Burnsville, MN, Brent (Nancy) Tate, Renton, Washington, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings Pat and Ronnie and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dennis was preceded in death by his sons William Jon and Dennis Gordon, parents and siblings Francis, Rita, John, Donna Mae, Juanita, and Virgil.
Memorial Service:
10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Inurnment:
Columbarium of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot with Military Honors accorded by members of the US Marine Corps and Minot American Legion Post #26.
Fellowship will follow our service at Carol Lucier's residence at 708 East Central Ave, Minot, ND 58701.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minot American Legion Post #26 in honor of Dennis Lucier.
