Dennis W. Jensen, 70, Minot, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in a Minot hospital.
Dennis was born May 24, 1937, in Hallock, MN, to Axel and Vera (Johnson) Jensen. He was educated in Hallock until moving with his family to Riverdale, ND, in 1949.
Dennis enlisted into the US Army on September 14, 1954 and served his country until being honorably discharged on September 13, 1957.
Dennis was united in marriage to Illadell Lyles on July 1, 1983, at Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot. They continued to make their home in Minot throughout the years. Dennis was employed at Muus Lumber for a time, and later worked as a semi-driver for Allied Van Lines. Dennis finished his career at McDonald's with his retirement in 2000. Illadell died on May 16, 1998.
Dennis liked to play cards and enjoyed all the family gatherings over the years. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.
Surviving family includes: Sisters: Hazel Huemoller, Kernville, CA, Lenore Larson, Elk Mound, WI, Inez Oye, Minneapolis, MN, Dorothy Johnson, Shelly, MN, Helen Jensen and Joyce (Milton) Berg, both of Minot; Brothers: Floyd Jensen, Salem, OR, Vincent Jensen and Keith (Gloria) Jensen, both of Minot; Step-Daughters: Brenda Boser, Colorado Springs, CO and Sherry (Joe) Swartz, Golden Valley, AZ; Grandchildren: Monica Kenney, Salvador and Angelina Bruno, Travis Boser and Nicole (Leonard Smith) Boser; Great-Grandchildren: Jayci, Ynes, and Evelyn Smith, Trevioh Caffee, and Joseph Castaneda; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Illadell, and brothers, Harold, Benny, and Earl Jensen.
Funeral:
Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND;
Visitation:
Monday, May 5, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
