Dennis LeRoy Findlay , 76, Minot, longtime State Farm Insurance Agent, died Friday, December 8, 2023 at his home.

Dennis was born April 9, 1947 in Watford City, North Dakota, the son of Raymond and Annette (Stutrud) Anderson.  He was raised and educated in Watford City, Glenburn and other cities in his youth.  He furthered his education at Minot State University.

Dennis was once married to Eileen Okland. From this union they were blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Nicole. During his younger years, he was employed with Sears Department Store in Minot as the Sporting Goods Manager.

Dennis then received his insurance license and went on to work with State Farm Insurance Agency, operating his own agency in Minot for more than 30 years. He retired in 2006. Dennis was united in marriage to Janelle "Jane" Benest in May of 2019.

Dennis was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot. He had participated in local softball leagues throughout the years. He enjoyed watching baseball and NASCAR. He would often sponsor local youth sporting teams. He was a member of the Dakota Flat Track Drag Racing Association and was a lifetime member of the Classic Car group of Minot.

His loving family includes, wife, Jane Findlay; his daughters, Michelle Carroll of Owatonna, MN and Nicole Findlay (Ray Munoz), Morton, MN; Jane's daughters, Shannon (Ken) Larson of Burlington, ND and Dayne (Kevin) Braaten of Minot; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Dianna), Gary and Jerry (Kathy) and a sister, Donna; several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Colin and sister, Verle.

Visitation: Thursday, December 14th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
