Delores Muriel Dahl, 88, Minot, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 in a Minot Hospital.

Delores was born October 21, 1928 in Eddyside, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Herbert and Ada (Summerlet) Anderson. She was raised at Big Beaver, Saskatchewan, and educated at Cow Creek and East Poplar schools in that area, before graduating from Assiniboia High School in 1945. She moved to Scobey, Montana, in 1945 and was employed for three years as a clerk in a department store.

Delores was united in marriage to Elvin Dahl on January 11, 1948, at Scobey. They made their home at various places in North Dakota until settling in Minot in 1963. In addition to raising their four children, Delores was employed as program director for the YWCA from 1975-1985. They spent the winter months in Apache Junction, Arizona, from 1990-2006.

Delores was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot, and the Minot American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her loving family includes , husband of 69 years, Elvin; children, Janice (Joel) Wood, Hazen, ND, Ronald Dahl, Kearns, UT, Darla Swanson, Minot, and Laurie (Ken) Paisley, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jamey (Juliana) Wood, Jessie (Dawn) Wood, Lee (Sarah) Swanson, Amy Swanson, Colin Swanson, Casey Paisley, and Kristopher Paisley; step-grandson, Jack Davis; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hunter and Lincoln Wood; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Kent Swanson; daughter-in-law, Kellie Davis-Dahl; sisters, Beulah Edland, Lorene Stannebein, and Lois Manternach; brothers, Harlen, Eugene, and Orval.

Celebration of Life Service: Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Later in the ND Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot or the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
