Debra "Debbie" A. Martin , 55, Minot, formerly of Goodrich, died Monday, February 23, 2009 in a Minot Hospital.
Debbie was born November 14, 1953 at Harvey, North Dakota the daughter of Emanuel and Marjorie (Montee) Adam. She was raised on a farm north of Goodrich and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1971. She attended Nursing School at Minot State University, where she graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in 1976.
Debbie was united in marriage to Jerry Martin on June 20, 1975 at First Baptist Church in Goodrich. They have made their home in Minot for the past thirty-four years, where along with raising their three children, she was employed as a nurse in the Intensive Care Units of St. Joseph's and Trinity Hospitals for over thirty- one years. Most recently she worked as a nurse in the Chemical Dependency Unit.
Debbie enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, playing the piano and spending time with her three grandchildren. She also loved to travel and see new places. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Her loving family includes : husband, Jerry Martin, Minot; children, Jeremy (Holly) Martin, Bismarck, ND, Erin (Armon) Lansing, Colorado Springs, CO, Melissa Martin, Minot; grandchildren, Triston and Madison Martin, and Andrew Lansing; father, Emanuel Adam, Goodrich, ND; sister, Arlene Adam, Goodrich, ND.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie, an infant daughter, Julie Martin and infant sister, Linda Adam.
Funeral service
: Saturday, February 28, 2009 - 11:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, Minot.
Interment
: Rolling Green Cemetery, Rural Des Lacs, ND later in the spring.
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00-7:00pm at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to First Church of the Nazarene.
