Deborah Jane "Debbie" Bodine, 82, Minot, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 in a Minot Hospital.

Debbie was born April 23, 1928 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Florence (Burt) Jacobson. She was raised and educated at Fort Yates, before moving with her family to Underwood, ND. She graduated from Underwood High School in 1946 and enrolled at Trinity School of Nursing in Minot. She received her registered nursing degree in 1949, and was employed as a RN at University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan prior to her marriage.

Debbie was united in marriage to Paul Bodine on May 12, 1951 in Michigan. They moved to Minot that same year, where along with raising their eleven children, she was employed with Trinity Hospital as a registered nurse for more than 35 years. She worked as head nurse in the ICU unit for many years. She completed her lengthy nursing career at Trinity Nursing Home when she retired in 1990.

Debbie was a member of the Mouse River Nurses Association. Debbie loved crocheting blankets and crocheted one for each grandchild as they graduated from high school. She has already crocheted blankets for the nine grandchildren who have yet to graduate. She never forgot a birthday and enjoyed making every card on the computer.

Lizotte, Minot; son-in-law: John Stip, Minot; twenty-nine grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Wall, Front Royal, VA, Gail Iglehart, Garrison, ND, Kay (Denny) Magner, Cohasset, MN; brother, Roger (Rose) Jacobson, Little Falls, MN.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen Stip and infant son, Chad.

Funeral service : Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot;
Prayer service: Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church;
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot;
Visitation: Wednesday from Noon-4:00 p.m . in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot, and from 5:30-7:00pm in the Church.
