IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debbie
Meschke
January 17, 1957 – January 1, 2021
Debbie Meschke, 63, Minot, died Friday, January 1, 2021 in her home.
Debbie was born January 17, 1957 in Everett, WA to Verlane and Lillian (Holen) Carlson. She called Minot home her entire life. She graduated from Minot High School in 1975.
Debbie was once married to John Pangrac. This union was blessed with a daughter, Jennifer.
Debbie started her thirty-five year career with Trinity as a certified nurses' aide at Trinity Homes. She transferred to the OB floor of the hospital serving as ward clerk until joining same day surgery in the same capacity. She retired in 2017. Debbie also worked in Home Health and valued deeply her twenty year relationship with Carmen Evanoff.
Debbie married Dan Meschke on June 11, 1982. They were blessed with the birth of a son Tyler, daughter Heather and later an adopted daughter Jordyn.
Debbie's favorite thing was to get family over for Sunday Meals. She especially loved summer gatherings on the deck, where music and talks continued late into the night. Debbie was a fighter her entire life and one of the toughest. She beat breast cancer twice, and as she finished her treatments for the second round, she watched her house being flooded in 2011 on TV. She powered through it and was then faced with a Parkinson's diagnosis paired with kidney and liver failure. She remained strong for her family who stayed by her side through it all.
Second only to family was going garage saling! Her motto was, "Never spend over $2 bucks for an item." Debbie loved taking her children and grandchildren on vacations to Florida and South Dakota. She claimed to love every season, but we all knew that Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She would start planning for next Christmas during this Christmas. Debbie was the most caring selfless person. She would make sure her kids and grandkids had what they needed and wanted before considering herself. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Dan Meschke, Minot; children Jennifer Dalen, Tyler (Falynn Reiswig) Meschke, Minot, Heather Meschke, and Jordyn Meschke, all of Minot; grandchildren Gavin and Caralina Edmund, Colton Meschke and Aleah Jones; father Verlane Carlson, Minot; sister Sandy (Perry) Getzlaff, Minot; sisters-in-law Lyn Ebertz, Manhattan Beach, FL and Kathy Meschke Lake Wales, FL and brother-in-law Darin (Marlee) Meschke, Bismarck, ND; nieces and nephews Jodi (Justin) Dauphinais, Jason (Theresa) Getzlaff, Kris Klein, Erin Walker and Kellie, Abbie and Grace Meschke.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Lillian Carlson, grandparents Lawrence and Esther Holen, father and mother-in-law Ronald and Donna (Hippo) Meschke and son-in-law, Paul Dalen.
