David Jerome Miller, 56, rural Minot died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in a Minot hospital.
David was born on May 9, 1962 in Minot to Doran and Connie (Brooks) Miller. He was raised on a farm in McKinley Township of Ward County, north of Minot, attended Minot Public Schools, graduated from Minot High School in 1980 and attended North Dakota State University in Fargo for two years.
Following his education, he returned to the family farm where he farmed with his father and brother-in-law. David was once married to LeeAnn McIntyre. They raised small grains and sunflowers. More recently, he had spent time during the winter months with his father in Mesa, AZ.
David was a member of First Lutheran Church - Minot, Minot Chamber Chorale, Club de Skinautique of Lake Metigoshe and the Love of Christ Lutheran Church Choir - Mesa. As a student he was a member of the Minot High School Swim Team which led him to coaching in the swim clubs of Minot and Fargo. He especially enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar, singing, golfing, cooking and performing water skiing tricks for the neighbors at Sunset Bay of Lake Metigoshe. He was also an accomplished welder and carpenter.
David is survived by his daughter: Hannah (Michael) Britton, stationed with the U.S. Navy at NAS Patuxent River; father: Doran Miller of rural Minot; siblings: Faye Miller of Mill Valley, California, Kim (Brad) Fisher of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Janet (Chad) Parton of Minot; brother-in-law: Blaire Olafson of Glenburn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Miller and sister, Sue Olafson.
Celebration of the Life of David Miller: Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Surrey.
Visitation: Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Minot Chamber Chorale or First Lutheran Church of Minot.
