Obituary

David H. Hamilton, 69, 414 16th Ave S.W. Minot, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006, on arrival at a Crosby Hospital.

David was born January 29, 1937, in Maryland Township of Ward County, North Dakota, the son of Henry R. and Eunice (Lund) Hamilton. He was raised on the family farm in McKinley Township and educated at McKinley Township School #4 and Minot High School. He was employed with Russell Mill Milling Company for several years and was united in marriage to Dorothy Wandle on August 9, 1959, at Minot.

David was employed for a time with Minot Public Schools, until the family moved to Illinois, where he did construction work for a short time.

The family returned to Minot in 1970, and David began working with his brother and cousin locally in the construction industry. They formed Hamilton Brothers Construction Company in 1974, and worked on various projects in the area until 1979. In 1980, he formed Pride Builders and worked construction jobs in the area until 1989, when he became disabled.

David was a longtime member of West Minot Church of God, where he served on the Church Council and ushered for a time.

His loving family includes : wife of forty-seven years, Dorothy; Children: Mike (Lisa) Hamilton, Minot, Karen Hamilton, Minot, and Mark (Amy) Hamilton, Frankfort, KY; Grandchildren: Michael Damian and Daniel Price Hamilton; Sisters: Adeline (Donavon) Newnam, Minot and Marie Whorley, Towner; Brother: Garold (LuAnn) Hamilton, Minot; Aunts: Cora Langseth, Williston and Myrtle Ramstad, Guymon, OK; Uncle: Leonard Lund, Minot; Sister-in-Law: Virginia (Rollie) Stremcha, Minot; A number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, David Ray Adkins, brothers; Daniel, Lyle and Loren and sister, Ruth, nieces, Becky and Ramona.

Funeral Service : Monday, October 23, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in West Minot Church of God.
Interment
: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation:
Sunday noon - 5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
