Darrel Wilkerson , 71, Minot, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in a Minot hospital.
A memorial service in memory of Darrel will be held on October 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Darrel Lee Wilkerson was born to Rev. Delbert and Rosella (Bechtold) Wilkerson on July 4, 1953. As a youth, Darrel was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, along with orchestra and band in school. In his high school years, Darrel was involved in DeMolay International and other extra circulars. After school hours, he spent time with the church orchestra playing drums. Darrel Graduated from Minot High School in 1972.
After graduating high school, Darrel attended one year at both Northwest Bible College, and Minot State. After completing some classes, Darrel left college and went into the work force. His jobs included mostly cleaning / Janitorial work. Later, he joined the North Dakota National Guard.
Darrel married Deborah Yoachim in Sept. 1978, and later married Judy Richards, whom he shared 4 children with. Darrel moved the family to Mississippi for a time, and then back to North Dakota. Later, Darrel went active duty in the Army, and got stationed in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky for 2 years.
After a heart attack, Darrel went into less strenuous work as a sales clerk at Dakota Pawn Brokers. He later suffered another serious stroke, which forced him into early retirement for health reasons. He later married Yvonne Peterson and they shared a son together, and later divorced.
In his free time, Darrel enjoyed woodworking, building model trains, as he was active in model railroaders club. He also enjoyed singing karaoke and going on fun bus trips to various casinos.
Darrel is survived by: his children, Darrel Lee II (Nickel) of Sawyer, ND, Diane (Brett) Tetrault of Bowbells, Randy of Minot, Jennifer (Tim) Bueschel of Minot, and Austin of Williston; grandchildren, Richard and Jared Wilkerson, Alyssa and Rebecca Maroney Hayden, Kendra and Natasha Tetrault, Matthew Holm, and Jessica Bueschel; great-grandson, Briggs Wilkerson; sister, Carole Vance of Foley, Alabama; half-brother Toby Wilkerson of Panama City, Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews,
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
