Darlene Bland , 77, Minot, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, in a Minot hospital.

Darlene was born January 2, 1941 to Wallace and Martha (Bader) Hanson. She grew up in rural North Dakota in the communities of Wildrose and Powers Lake.

Darlene was united in marriage to Leon Bland in 1960. They made their home in Berthold for many years until moving to Minot in the late 1970's, while following Leon's career with the Burlington Northern Railroad.

They were blessed with a daughter Mary in 1960. Darlene cared deeply for her family and provided a loving home over the years. Leon passed away in 2003.

Darlene enjoyed crossword puzzles and always jumped at the chance to enter a sweepstakes. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Mary (Larry Bruhn) Bland, Minot; brother, Donald Hanson, Fargo, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leon and siblings, Donna Maynard and David Hanson.

At the request of family, no formal services will be held.
