Darlene Jessie Mae Krause Bernsdorf was born on February 11, 1931 in Sherwood, ND to Daniel and Nellie (Neubauer) Krause. Darlene lived a long and meaningful life marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She married the love of her life, Howard Bernsdorf in 1948, and together they raised six children. Darlene was known for her generosity, quick wit, love for baking, and love for all her family. She was the heart of our family, the kind of woman whose strength carried generations. She created a home where all felt welcome and loved deeply, giving of herself in every role, as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was fiercely independent, endlessly giving, and deeply rooted in love, Darlene was the foundation on which many of us leaned.
