Darla Quail, Williston, ND, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Trinity Hospital in Minot at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 22 days as a result of bilateral pneumonia and lung cancer.

Darla Gayle Powell was born August 31, 1953 in Hettinger, ND, the daughter of Darrell and Gayle (Martin) Powell. Darla and her two sisters were adopted by Ronald Quail in 1962. Darla attended the Hettinger Public Schools and graduated from Renton High School, Renton, WA in 1972. She returned to Hettinger, ND in 1979.

She moved to Williston, ND in 1987 and resided there with her partner of 30 years, Lynn Boynton, until her death.

Darla is survived by her partner, Lynn Boynton, Williston, ND; her mother, Gayle (Lynn) Howe, Brandon, SD; three sisters, Deborah (Gordon) Bourne, Canton, SD, DeVonna (John) Murrin, Long Beach, CA, Barbara (Mark) Sperlich, Brandon, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Quail; sister, Stephanie (Quail) Gray; maternal grandparents, Ira and Norma Martin.
