Darla Allen, 51, Minot, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Darla was a loving mother to her four children and was known for her eloquent and eclectic persona. She loved to travel by train enjoying the scenery to her destination. Darla appreciated all genres of music, but had a deep appreciation for Motown and jazz. She was an ardent fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, following them through the ups and downs.

Darla was devoted to her grandchildren, whom kept her heart so full in this life. She will be so deeply missed by all who were blessed to share in her life.

Her loving family includes children, Shena Allen, Bryce Allen, Jordan (Adam) Tillema and Jonis E.S. Allen-Houser; grandchildren, Rylee, Piper and Harrison Tillema; mother, Ilene Allen; grandmother, Florence Hammer; siblings, Traci Allen, Rissa (Matthew) Williams, Dennis (Jennifer) Allen and Josh Allen along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Darla was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Jake Schalesky and Clarence Hammer, brother-in-law, Roberto Carrero, great aunt and uncle, Paul and Bev Schalesky and Prince.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Ehlers-Danlos Society
