Darell Edwin Hauser, 64, rural Sawyer, and owner-operator of Hauser's Farm Supply, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in a Minot Hospital.

Darell was born April 14, 1945 in Minot, North Dakota, to Edwin and Ella (Samuel) Hauser. He was reared on the family farm near Anamoose, and attended White School near there. He graduated from Anamoose High School in 1963 and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. In 1966, he entered into active duty service with the North Dakota Army National Guard and was stationed at Ft. Ord, California.

Darell was united in marriage to Donna Weltz on March 31, 1967 at Harvey. They made their home in Minot, where they were blessed with two children. Darell worked for Motor Service Company in Minot for fifteen years. In 1972, the family moved to their present home on the outskirts of Sawyer, ND when they began operating Hauser's Farm Supply out of their home. Hauser's Farm Supply has continued to grow and prosper at this location on U.S. Highway 52 for the past 37 years.

Darell enjoyed spending time with family, raising elk at their farm, riding motorcycle and being with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He and Donna had just celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary together. He enjoyed helping people, especially those in the farm community, spending countless hours at his business dedicated to those he served.

His loving family includes : his wife of forty-two years, Donna, Sawyer, children, Malissa (Shane) Thompson and their children, Riley and Brooks Thompson of Floyds Knobs, IN, Brian Hauser and his fiancée, Teresa Kaseman of Minot, brother, Dennis Hauser, Harvey, ND and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Darell was preceded in death by his parents, and step-mother, Ella (Bitz).

Funeral service : Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Friday from 2:00-7:00pm. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
