Daniel Cole Hager, 66, Minot, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 on arrival at a Minot Hospital.
Dan was born July 23, 1941 at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Daniel and Mildred (Larson) Hager. He was raised and educated at Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1960. During his younger years, he was employed at Minot Food Store. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Navy and honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era.
Dan was united in marriage to Susan White on June 21, 1969 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. He was employed with Dakota Drug Company the past forty-three years.
He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, where he was active as an usher. He had participated in local bowling leagues and umpired numerous softball games. He loved to spend time gardening, playing cards and watching football especially the Vikings and talking with fans while working at the concession stands of the Minot Municipal Auditorium. He looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.
His loving family includes: Wife of 38 years, Susan Hager, Minot; Children: Tammy (Scott) Meschke, Dickinson, ND and Holly (Allen) Kersten, Max, ND; Grandchildren: Matthew and Hannah Meschke, Colt and Wyatt Kersten; Mother: Mildred Hager, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Brother: Dean (Dian) Hager, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Sisters: Daniece Oldfield, Ft. Wayne and Evie (Ray) Vaughn, Ft. Wayne; Sister-in-law: Kay (Dale) Mattern, Minot; Brother-in-law: Keith (Pat) White, Minot; Aunts: Merna Semmen, Minot and Carol Frank, Garrison, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel.
Funeral service:
Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
Visitation:
Monday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund or an organization of the donor's choice.
