Obituary

Dale Price, 80, Minot, died peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2020 in his home under the care of Trinity Hospice and with his family at his side.

Dale Lester Price was born on April 6, 1940 in Lena, Illinois to Clyde and Bertha Mae (Griffin) Price.  He was raised and educated in Lena prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force.  He was stationed in Okinawa and at Minot Air Force Base where he served as an aircraft mechanic.

Dale married Sharon Eidahl on June 16, 1962 at Christ Lutheran Church - Minot.  They were married after only 3 months of courtship and were married for 58 years. Even up to his last days, Dale's main concern was to make sure Sharon would be OK if he was not there for her.  Dale had two daughters Jolynn and Heidi. He taught them both how important it is to work hard and to keep your word.

Dale and Sharon resided in Minot and Glendale, CA for a short time before settling in Minot where Dale was a civil service employee at M.A.F.B.  and owned and operated Price's Auto Body Repair.  Dale established Price's Upholstery in 1977 and Jackets by Price in 1988 and operated those businesses until he retired in 2012. Dale loved to work. He was a hard worker and passionate about his businesses and always gave his all.  Dale and Sharon moved to San Tan Valley, AZ in 2012 and resided there until earlier this year.

Dale was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Eagles Aerie, Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge all in Minot.  He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, woodworking, winemaking and trap shooting. Even in his hobbies, he always strived to give 100% effort. His garden was meticulous and was the envy of many as they would drive past it on 4th Avenue. He later started making wine and his wine bottling parties will be remembered for many years to come. He also passed along to his daughters the love of the outdoors including camping and gardening which have already been passed to his grandchildren Jenna and Griffin who he loved very much.

Dale was also an animal lover. It was rare that he would not have a dog and especially a Golden Retriever by his side. After moving to Arizona, he always dreamed of having another Golden Retriever. Although he never did get one, he ended up with his best pal Rocky the chihuahua.

Dale's loving family includes his wife of 58 years Sharon; daughters:  Jolynn (Gene) Thurston of Fargo and Heidi Price (Jeremy Lang) of Minot; grandchildren: Jenna and Griffin Thurston; brothers:  Clyde Jr. "C.R." (Helaine) Price of San Antonio TX, Daniel (Jane) Price of Aurora IL and Gary (Nancy) Price of Lena IL;sister: Charlotte Ditsworth, Freeport, IL; brother-in-law: Galen (Connie) Eidahl of San Tan Valley, AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
