Dale Allen Hohmann, 62, Colorado Springs CO and formerly of Minot and Bismarck died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in his home.
Dale was born, with his twin brother Dean, on October 10, 1951 in Minot to Sid and Jeanne (Rodgers) Hohmann. He was reared with his three brothers, Ken, Dean and Doug, in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1969. He continued his education at Minot Business College, Minot State College and Northern Technical School of Business in Minneapolis where he assisted in the operation of several group homes. Also, he was employed at the Minot Vocational Workshop and was instrumental in establishing and developing the Second Story Social Club as assistant director. He was very proud of his work with the developmentally disabled.
Dale moved to Bismarck in 1981 where he was employed in an administrative position by the North Dakota Special Olympics. He returned to Minot where he served as Client Representative and Gaming Director for the North Dakota Association for the Disabled. He moved to Colorado Springs CO in 1995 to be closer to his twin brother Dean.
Dale was a former member of First Lutheran Church - Minot. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was an accomplished musician especially as a pianist and played with the band "Rubber Stamp". He had struggled with Type 1 Diabetes for many years.
Dale is survived by his daughter: Tanya Hohmann of Bismarck; grandson: Johnathan Mutch of Bismarck; mother: Jeanne Hohmann of Minot; sister-in-law: Kathy Hohmann and nieces: Nicole Anthony, Ali Hohmann, Stacy Shomento and Stephanie Hurd.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, brothers: Dean, Ken and Doug and infant brother Don.
Celebration of the Life of Dale Hohmann: Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Second Story Social Club and First Lutheran Church both of Minot.
