Dale Kenneth Brusven, 74, Minot, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in a Minot Hospital.
Dale was born July 16, 1936 at Minot, ND, the son of Oscar and Helen (Johnson) Brusven. He was raised and educated at Minot and enlisted with the U.S. Army Reserve in 1953. He entered into active duty services with the U. S. Army and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Dale continued with the Reserve and was united in marriage to Leone Luchsinger on June 21, 1958 at Surrey. Throughout the years, they made their home in Minot, while he was employed at NoDak Auto & Earl's Westland, before beginning employment with Asplund Toyota. In 1974, he purchased partial ownership of the dealership with Leo Broyles and continued in that capacity until the business was sold in 1988. Dale then worked as a salesman for Jim Ryan Chevrolet and worked there until retiring in 1995.
Dale was a member of the Minot American Legion, Eagles Aerie and Elks Lodge. He was an ASE Certified Mechanic and was a member of the ASE Board. He and Leone had currently been attending Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot.
Dale enjoyed hiking, golfing, riding motorcycle and traveling.
Dale is survived by : wife of fifty-two years, Leone Brusven, Minot, children, Lynette (Steve) Tonneson, Minot, Janet (Manley) Olsoe, Fergus Falls, MN, Greg (Cathy) Brusven, Pierre, SD; Eleven grandchildren, Angela (Scott) Skones, Krista (Joey) Bratvold, Alyssa Tonneson; Joshua, Justin & Jaron Olsoe; Bethany, Kelly, Britta, Kara & Becca Brusven; 2 great-grandchildren: Hannah Galegher and Maycee Skones; brother, Ronald (Donna) Brusven, Madras, OR, sister, Deanna (Milton) Luchsinger, San Antonio, TX.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service:
Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot.
Interment
: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND.
Visitation:
Sunday from noon-5:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Our Redeemer's Church, Our Redeemer's Christian School or Trinity Hospice/Home Health.
