Obituary

Dale Allen Bonebrake, 68, Minot died on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Trinity Hospice.

Dale was born on April 20, 1945 in Minot to Kay Ira and Arline (Austreng) Bonebrake. He was reared in Minot, graduated from Minot High School in 1964 and from the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton in 1966. As a youth, Dale was active in Boy Scouts and later became a scout leader for his son's troop. As a teenager, he was employed by Minot Public Schools providing lawn care during the summer months.

Dale married his high school sweetheart Linda Clauson on July 29, 1966 at First Presbyterian Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where he was employed by Souris River Telephone at Minot Air Force Base for twenty years; then, at the SRT Central Office for fourteen years until he retired in 2000. He loved going to work every day, but felt very fortunate to retire at a young age.

Dale was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Trustee and sang in the choir for many years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and Nodakords. He especially enjoyed being outdoors fishing, boating and camping. Most summer weekends from the time he was a child were spent at Lake Metigoshe with his family. Also, he and Linda loved to travel and explore the U.S. and other countries with their pick up camper and spent many nights all over the country compliments of Walmart parking lots. However, Dale's number one passion was his family; he was a great husband and father and he loved attending his grandchildren\'s activities. He was a kind and generous man who always made time for his family and friends. He was a compassionate, faithful and loving husband, dad grandpa and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dale's loving family includes his wife of 47 years Linda; children: Jeff (Marla) Bonebrake of Minot; Jodi (Eric) Trujillo of Lakewood, Colorado and Jay (Jamie) Bonebrake of Rugby; grandchildren: Brett Kramer; Jack, Thea, Lily, Benn, Cooper and Riley Bonebrake and Noah Trujillo; mother: Arline Bonebrake of Lake Metigoshe sister: Karen Holman of Lake Metigoshe BRother: Darol (Kathy) Bonebrake of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
