Curtis "Curt" Ralph Juergens, 81, longtime Minot resident, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in a Minot Hospital.
Curt was born April 25, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota the son of Leo and Edna (Pederson) Juergens. He was raised in Waterford Township of Ward County and educated at country schools, prior to graduating from Carpio High School in 1956. Following his education, he became employed with Northwest Sales and Service Construction for three years, prior to working at Warner - Johnson Construction.
Curt was united in marriage to the love of his life Ruth Houston on June 24, 1961. They made their home in Minot throughout the years, where along with raising their three daughters, he was employed at Midwest Motor for 24 years and various other local trucking firms for six years. He retired in 2000. He had served with the U.S. Army Reserve unit from 1957-1963.
Curt was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the local Teamster's Union, Minot American Legion and lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. Curt was an avid bowler, and in his younger years, had assisted with the construction of the warming house at South Hill Complex which was used by area ice skaters.
His loving family includes: wife of 57 years, Ruth; daughters, Brenda (Wayne) Foster, Minot; Karla (Mike) Paurus, Burlington, ND and Rhonda (Wes) Maas, Minot; 3 grandchildren to include: Danielle & Dustin Foster and Jennifer Eggen; brother, Wes (Judy) Juergens of Minot; sister in law, Mary Juergens, Minot; several nieces and nephews.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Deborah Lynn; brothers, Richard and Leo Juergens Jr. and a sister in law, Julie Juergens.
Celebration of Life service: Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, May 31st from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers or plants the family prefers memorials to Zion Lutheran Church General Fund.
