Curtis Lee "Curt" Currie , 67, of Lake Metigoshe and Minot died on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in his home on Lake Metigoshe.

Curt was born on January 9, 1951 in Devils Lake, ND to LaMoure and Vivian (Swartz) Currie. He was reared on the family farm near Starkweather, educated in Starkweather, graduated from Starkweather High School in 1969 and attended Minot State College. As a young adult he began his career in the grain handling business in 1970.

Curt married Debra Burkhart on June 17, 1972 in Cando, ND. They made their home in Leeds and Devils Lake where he worked at grain elevators prior to attending Manager\'s Training in grain elevator management. Then, they resided in Lankin, ND and Antler, ND before he was employed at CHS SunPrairie in Minot from 1980 until his retirement as Operations Manager in 2016. He really enjoyed his fellow employees and his business contacts.

Curt went through treatment in 1979 and maintained his sobriety for 38 years. He made many 12th step visits over the years.

Curt was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church - Minot where he served on Board of Trustees and as an Usher. Also, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time at his lake home on Lake Metigoshe. He was especially proud to have completed the Dale Carnegie courses in management.

Curt's loving family includes his wife of 46 years Debbie; sons: Justin Currie (Terra Greff) of Bismarck and Keegan (Kara) Currie of Minot; grandchildren: Thade, Zane, Drew and Colee; siblings: Evonne (George) Lund, Audubon, MN, Mary (Terry) Borstad Devils Lake; Celia Jo Lindquist of Bismarck and Cynthia (Jim) Engelhart of Payson, AZ; In laws: Delores Palmquist, Walnut Creek CA; Joe and Dalene Brew, Casa Grande, AZ; Becky Raddohl, Cando, ND; Ron and Ruthann Finger, Maricopa, AZ; GR and Alice Nelson, Tulsa, OK; Dan and Linda Burkhart, Thompson, ND; Doug Burkhart, Cando, ND and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Curt was preceded in death by his son, Eric Lee Currie and his parents.

Celebration of the Life of Curt Currie: Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church - Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Faith United Methodist Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
