Obituary

Craig Randall Pederson , 75, Minot, died Sunday, September 10, 2023 in a Minot hospital.

Craig was born August 2, 1948, at Minot, the son of Earl and Evelyn (Lunden) Pederson on his mother's birthday. He sustained brain damage from fever as a baby and thus became the "special son." He was given special education and vocational training away from home and stayed in foster type settings with other young boys in Douglas, Makoti and Drake. He worked at the Fargo Vocational School and was employed at the Dutch Maid as a dishwasher.

Craig went back to the farm and became very useful to his dad, helping with fieldwork and loading grain or driving truck during harvest. His dad bought the boys a Sears Moped and Craig began a long love affair with motorbikes. They gradually got bigger, and he finally became the proud owner of a Honda Goldwing. After the death of his father, he became his mom's driver and helper, and he continued to help his brother Van on the farm.

When his mother died Craig moved into an apartment in Minot. He was involved at the Second Story and could be seen riding his 3-wheel bike to Walmart and the Dollar store. His friend Herb took Craig on fishing trips and mentored him with time, wisdom and the structure of a home, which included staying well fed thanks to Herb's wife Jolene.

After his brother Rod and wife Kim moved to Minnesota, he was able to see the Twins at Target Field and became a devoted fan, watching every game on his TV and calling Rod every following day to tell him the score.

Craig also was involved in caring for several dogs over the years. Craig placed his trust in Jesus Christ and enjoyed fellowship at Calvary Chapel Minot.

Craig is survived by his brothers, Lane (Fran) Pederson, Carrabassett Valley, ME, Galen (Nancy) Pederson, Fort Collins, CO, Brent (Janet) Pederson, Berkeley Heights, NJ, Van Pederson, Roseglen, ND, Rod (Kim) Pederson, St Paul, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; friend, Herb (Jolene) Mosher, Minot, ND.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Ronnie Berdahl.

Funeral Service: Monday, September 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., in Calvary Chapel Minot 4600 N Broadway, Minot. Fellowship and lunch will follow in the church.
Interment: Roseglen Cemetery, Roseglen, ND
