Obituary

Craig Anderson, 58, Minot and formerly of Velva, died on Sunday, August 25, 2019 in a Minot hospital following an eight-month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Craig Anthony Anderson was born on Dec. 9, 1960 in Minot to Anthony and Almaree (Loberg) Anderson of Velva.  He was baptized and confirmed at Oak Valley Lutheran Church and graduated from Velva High School in 1979 where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball.  He continued his education at Dickinson State University prior to graduating from Minot State University in 1990.   As a young adult he was employed at his family's farms and Smitty's Tree, Lawn and Snow where he specialized as a tree trimmer and tree cutter.

Craig has been married to Tana Nelson for the past seventeen years.  They made their home in Minot where Craig was employed at Menard's, first in Minot, predominantly as the manager of the Hardware Department and then as an assistant general manager of the Scottsbluff, NE store for the past two years. Recently, they returned to Minot to be closer to family.

Craig especially enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and cheering on his family in various sports activities.  His hobbies and special interests included anything related to his grandchildren, sports, bowling and pool.

Craig's loving family includes his wife: Tana; parents:  Anthony Anderson  and Almaree Anderson; siblings: Paul Anderson and Lori Britton; stepchildren:  Brue Swanson, Tori (Jake) Lombard and Zane Swanson; grandchildren: Brynn and Oscar Swanson and Scarlet Lombard; mother-in-law:  Arlene Nelson, in-laws:  Wendy (Dennis) Dion and Deanna "TeeDee" Nelson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Craig was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Wayne Nelson of Minot; and grandparents: Albert and Margaret Loberg and Clarence and Lillian Miller of Velva.

Celebration of the Life of Craig Anderson:  Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
