Connie Swensrud , 86, Minot, died Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in a Minot nursing home.
Connie Busch was born on the family farm on July 11, 1939 to parents Edward and Olga (Klimpel) Busch. She was raised and educated in Sawyer, graduating from Sawyer High School in 1958. While in high school, she met and married Orlan Swensrud. They later divorced in 1969.
Following high school, Connie worked at Bonanza Steakhouse in Minot washing dishes. She also worked for many years at Bridgeman Creamery packaging ice cream tubs. After some time, Connie found her niche as a housekeeper and a caregiver, which she continued doing for most of her life.
Connie's love for the Lord was an instrumental part of her life. She could often be found reading her bible or sharing the gospel with anyone who crossed her path, always asking if they knew Jesus and had him in their heart. She was a witness to many miracles and a prayer warrior for many. Connie even spent some time as a street evangelist in New York City, sharing the gospel on the corner of many busy streets.
Connie was a loving, god-fearing woman. She loved her family dearly and always made an effort to spend time with them. Her selfless and compassionate ways will be dearly missed by all her friends and family.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Vickie Peters; grandchildren, KC Peters, Travis (Savanna) Peters, Jobie (Shelani) Peters, and Amanda (Alex) Schillinger; great-grandchildren, Izabella and Izaiah Iwen, Ashlee (Phuc) Tran, Mayzii and Laynii Peters, Monte Meyers, Marlee and Kiana Peters, Keoni Enchautegui, and Axton and Anslee Schillinger; great-great-grandchild, Everett Tran; brother, Leo Busch; sisters, Darlene Hauf and Sandy Billings; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Connie is reunited with her parents; brother, Bob Busch; sisters, Diann Busch and JoAnn Hauf; and great-grandson Dylan Peters.
