Obituary

Clifford E. "Cliff" Rostvedt, 90, Minot, formerly of Newburg, died Sunday, February 24, 2008 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Clifford was born January 17, 1918 at Newburg, North Dakota, the son of Sivert and Ida (Estenson) Rostvedt. He was raised and educated at Newburg. Cliff was employed for a short time with the Newburg Farmers Union Oil Company, until entering into active duty service with the US Army in 1942. He was sent overseas to England on July 1, 1942, and honorably served his country during World War II in the European Theatre of the War. He received his honorable discharge in 1945 and returned to Minot, where he was employed at Minot Supply Co. for many years.

Cliff was united in marriage to Eunice Roberts on September 29, 1948 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. They have since made their home in Minot, where he was employed with Dakota Drug for over thirty years, retiring as the office manager in 1984.

Cliff was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council and as an usher. He was a member of the Minot American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign War, and both he and Eunice have volunteered at Trinity Hospital for many years. He enjoyed going to auction sales to find a bargain, and was a handyman who enjoyed fixing most anything he set down to work on. He and Eunice enjoyed traveling to Arizona, Colorado and Virginia to visit family and friends.

His loving family includes : Loving wife of over fifty nine years, Eunice; Children: Craig (Pat) Rostvedt, Denver, CO; Terry (Sue) Rostvedt, Windsor, CO; Tim (LouAnn) Rostvedt, Bismarck; Tom (Diane) Rostvedt, Minot; Grandchildren: Jason (Deborah) Rostvedt, Kendra (Bryan) DeHaven, Kari (Jason) Allen, Brianne (Brian) Ward, all from CO; Katie (Eric) Rooke, Williston; Ty (Sheila) Rostvedt, Fargo; Mandi Rostvedt, Bismarck; Eric, Ethan and Jesse Rostvedt, Minot; Great-Grandchildren: Grant, Austen, & Alex Allen, Cade Rostvedt, Bryton DeHaven; Nieces: Shirley Meyer, Scottsdale, AZ; Susan Johnson, Fargo and Carol Ranck, Florida.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service : Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:30pm in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday from 2:00-7:00pm in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, Our Redeemers Christian School, or organization of the donor's choice.
