Clayton Edward Skar , 69, Minot, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 in his home.

Clayton was born October 15, 1948 in Crosby, ND the youngest son to Einar and Angeline (Munson) Skar. He grew up in Riverdale and Minot. Clayton completed his education in Minot.

Clayton was once married to LaDonna Hagen. This union was blessed with five children, Wyatt, Wendy Stacey, Daniel, and baby Jessie. They made their home in Burlington, ND.

Clayton was employed throughout the years with Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Kedney Moving Storage and Movers Inc. as a furniture mover. He retired in 2010.

Clayton loved music, especially playing his guitar. From a very young age, he had learned to play violin by ear. He blessed many with his talent, playing in various local bands for more than 40 years. He also enjoyed jam sessions, reciting music history, and the Andy Griffith Show. He was a very devoted father, and fond of his grandchildren and his memory will forever be held deep in our hearts.

Clayton is survived by his children, Wendy (Ed Hopkins) Skar, Stacey (Randy Hegle) Skar, Daniel (Bobbi Omvig) Skar, all of Minot and Wyatt Skar, Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren, Isabelle, Leah, Michael, DaySun, Angelina, Courtney, Elliona, Nolan, and Caitlyn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jessie Jean, sister, Elaine Cree, brothers, Elmer and Allen Skar, and a twin sister and brother, Dorothy and Donald Skar and longtime companion, LaVonne Lang

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred.
