Clarice Minerva Brey, 89, Minot, died February 18, 2020, in a Minot nursing home.

Clarice was born July 9, 1930 to Nicholas and Nettie (Thorson) Brodis in Minot, ND.  She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1948.  She graduated from Trinity School of Nursing in 1951 and was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Clarice had two sons, Michael and James, by her first marriage.  She was remarried in 1962 to Richard Brey, during which time they worked together at St. Joseph's Hospital in Minot.  They lived for a short time in Billings, MT, and in Casa Grande, AZ.  They retired back to Minot.  Richard passed away in 2008.  Clarice moved to Edgewood Vista in 2011, having been evacuated during the flood.  She most recently lived at Trinity Homes.

Clarice was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Minot.  She enjoyed knitting, reading, golfing and playing pinochle.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

Clarice is survived by her sons, Michael (Debbie) Doede, Minneapolis, MN, and James (Nancy) Doede, Sierra Madre, CA; stepson James Brey of Florida; grandchildren Richard Doede (son of Michael), Ashleigh Doede and Nikolaos Doede (children of James), and step-grandson Greg De Saye (son of Richard's daughter, Julie); nephews Keith and Garold Bloms, and niece Barbara (Bloms) Ramsdell.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, and her twin sister Marise Bloms.
