Obituary

Clarice Louise Aus , 83, Minot, formerly of Norwich, died, Monday, May 14, 2018 in a Minot Hospital.

Clarice was born November 26, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Dagmar (Hagen) Person. She was raised and educated in Minneapolis and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1953. During her younger years, she was employed at the Federal Reserve Bank, ELC Office and later with the Northwestern National Bank in Minneapolis as an office assistant.

Clarice was united in marriage to Perry Aus, Jr. on May 29, 1957 in Minneapolis. They moved to Minot in 1957. She graduated from Minot State Teacher's College and taught at Roosevelt Elementary School from 1965-1967 in Minot. She later taught at Deering from 1967 to 1968, Bottineau from 1969-1972, at Minot Air Force Base from 1972-1975 and finally in Minot at Sunnyside Elementary School from 1975 until 1995, when she retired. Perry died May 13, 2004.

Clarice was a member of Norwich Lutheran Church and the North Dakota Retired Teachers' Association. She was a former member of National Education Association, North Dakota Education Association, Minot Education Association.

Teaching was her passion and it showed to those around her with former students routinely stopping by the farm to express their appreciation for what an inspiration she was to their early learning; this continued after her retirement with her grandkids with whom she spent countless hours on their studies. She enjoyed sending letters, reading, sewing, collecting spoons and dishes and gardening, especially her flowers.

Her loving family includes , sons, Perrin Aus of Norwich; Paul (Kim) Aus, Great Mills, MD; grandchildren, Allison (Nick) Tebockhorst of Des Moines, IA, Emily, Ethan, Andrew and Evelyn; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister.

Celebration of Life service : 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Norwich Lutheran Church, Norwich, ND.
Interment : Norwich Lutheran Cemetery, rural Norwich.
Visitation: Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Norwich Lutheran Church or the Norwich Lutheran Cemetery Association.
